1 I am the Withey being restrained by reins in the photograph in front of Nurse Smith, I was 3.  She was my Godmother, and when I was christened in St Helens at about the age of 6, (Mum and Dad had a multi christening, I think three of us were done at the same time, myself, Charlotte and Jim, I don't think Katie had been born then) I received a small gold cross on a chain from her.  I wore it on my wedding day in St Helens in 1983.  Nurse had moved to the Retirement bungalows near Offas Way by then, but used to live next door to St Helens School, which I would pop into on my way home in Wick Avenue to help feed the puppies as she used to breed Cairn terriers from Ruby, and the Witheys ended up with Clyde and Tweed. Clyde was given to me on my tenth birthday.  I am now 50 and my husband does not believe I ever looked like that in the photograph. I live in Sussex not far from Hickstead and work in London.
